USER GUIDE
SOS TALISMAN, the international Swiss made, medical information locket you wear as jewellery.
Wear your SOS TALISMAN all the time
Whether you're at work, home, playing sport or travelling, you should always wear your SOS TALISMAN. It has been specially made water and heat resistant for constant wear. It will give you peace of mind all the time.
KEEPING YOUR SOS TALISMAN UP TO DATE
It is essential that your SOS TALISMAN is kept in good order and up to date with your current address, phone numbers and medical information. Only then can others provide effective care in an emergency. Correct medical information is vital. If in doubt, ask your doctor.
HOW TO FiLL IN YOUR INFORMATION SLIP
It is essential to consult your doctor regarding the details to enter, since absolute accuracy is vital. It is also important to update it periodically as your medical details change.
The 32cm multi-lingual certificate is made up of an insoluble fibre. Fill in the information slip by typewriter or permanent ink. Do not use washable ink or ballpoint pens! The SOS TALISMAN waterproof marking pen is recommended.
Type or write the number shown on your Talisman lock, across the red letters SOS, as indicated. Enter your name, address and date of birth.
Enter the name and telephone number of the first person you wish to be advised of the emergency, then put in an alternative name in case the first person doesn't answer, then write the name of your doctor and his/her phone number.
The next two panels are for your religion and blood group.
Enter any allergies and medical treatment you may be undergoing followed by the types of vaccinations you've had and the dates.
These panels are for any additional medical information you and your doctor think is desirable.
WHEN COMPLETE
When the certificate is complete, tear off the upper and lower edges along perforated lines. Fold concertina wise, with SOS showing on the top. Cut corners should fit exactly one on top of the other. Unscrew the heat and water resistant screw top (follow arrows), remove and retain the spring clip, insert the certificate, replace the spring clip and screw back firmly.
Important Information:
Only stainless steel and precious metal units may be engraved, not plated variety.
Make it a habit to regularly check the tightness of the top of your SOS TALISMAN and wipe off any dirt. Due to constant rubbing and wear, it could become loose.
In some cases, water can ingress into the capsule, eg through condensation or extended use in water, and this is why we strongly recommend the use of a waterproof marking pen when filling in the Information Strip.
We recommend stainless steel or precious metal units for diabetics or persons taking medication. We also recommend that children wear the watch band unit.
